WallMaster Pro 4.0a

WallMaster Pro is nothing more than the paid version of WallMaster, an application we’ve covered here on FindMySoft in the past (see here). What WallMaster Pro does is bring a bit of the Windows 7 functionality to the Windows XP operating system. To be more precise, WallMaster will automatically chance your desktop wallpaper after a specific amount of time, like each time you boot up your computer, or every ten minutes, every couple of hours, and so on.

WallMaster is freeware, meaning you can use it free of charge for as long as you want without paying a dime in return. WallMaster Pro is not freeware. Why is that? To put it bluntly, it is not freeware because you get more features.

For example WallMaster came with support for BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, TIF, PCX, TGA, and WMF. WallMaster Pro comes with support for a lot more formats. The application provides support for more than 30 formats and Active Desktop (HTML) wallpaper. This means you can use add an animation, sound clip or movie to your desktop.

You’re also paying for functionality that you do no get in WallMaster. WallMaster Pro can for example easily convert your wallpaper to other graphic formats. It offers customizable hotkeys, it comes with multi-user support, a command-line feature, it allows you to make your desktop icons’ text transparent, and it can scan your hard disk for wallpaper files. These are all things you will not get from WallMaster, you will only get them for WallMaster Pro.

One thing has not changed though. I found WallMaster to be incredibly easy to use. I expected WallMaster Pro to be equally easy to use and I was not disappointed.

Just like its freeware sibling, WallMaster Pro is a very easy to use application that automatically changes your wallpaper at specific intervals of time.
